What we do

CISV provides a range of unique, educational group activities, which develop cross-cultural understanding in children, youth and adults from around the world.

By encouraging respect for cultural differences and the development of self-awareness, CISV empowers each participant to incorporate these values into their lives as they become global citizens and strive for a more peaceful world. To see what specific programs we do check the 'Our Programs' page.

All our camps give participants tools to better grasp the ideas of peace, cooperation, cultural diversity, live peacefully together, etc. Being so much in contact with diversity, participants discover themselves, that is: how unique they are and yet how alike in many aspects! They also (start to) sense the impact they can have on their lives and those of others and begin to take actions.

Our flagship camp - the 'village' - starts with 11 years old, which is a tremendously great age as they are still "kids" (very open minded and eager to discover) but nevertheless with a great capacity of reasoning.

All other camps go through the same process but focus more and more on taking ownership of their lives as citizen of the world.
